Below are our core values. These 7 core values proceed from our vision as a church and they are what identify us and constitute the passion and guiding rod behind everything we do through our church ministries. The core values are not presented in any particular order and they all stand equally important.
1. The Word of God
At Wells, we are fully committed to sound doctrine and to the accurate teaching of the Bible in its entirety, as well as to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that God commends us to proclaim His Word (2Tim 3:14) and that His Word is the only means through which God:
– Saves us (2 Tim. 3:14-15, 1 Peter 1:23, Rom. 1:16-17)
– Leads us to spiritual maturity (2 Tim 3:16-17, 1 Peter 2:2-3, Acts 20:32)
2. Evangelism and Prayer
We believe God commands us to proclaim His Word (2 Tim 4: 2), the good news of salvation in Christ to all men (Rom. 10:14-15, Mt. 28:18-19, Mr. 16:15)
3. Life of Discipleship
At Wells Salvation Church, we are committed to biblical discipleship according to Christ’s command to His Church in which each believer is to play a part. (Matthew 28:18-20)
From the moment we are saved and receive the new birth of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5-6), believers are immediately called to a life of discipleship. Here at Wells, we teach and encourage a committed and life-long discipleship to Jesus Christ.
4. Life of family
We uphold and are committed to building strong families through the teaching of biblical family values. In a world that seeks to redefine this institution our desire is to see entire families redeemed, restored and God-honoring (Eph5:22-33, Eph6:1-4). We also desire to see a caring and loving church family that is welcoming to all and embodies the love of Christ (Rom12:9-13). We believe God deeply cares about these two divine institutions and we are committed to strengthening them with the help of the Holy Spirit and in the process impact our communities, Canada and beyond for God. (Mat16:18-19, Gen1:26-27)
At Wells Salvation Church, we believe that we must serve God and man through the giving of our talents, time and resources. In a hurting and lost world, we desire to show the love of God (John3:16), not in words only but in deeds also through compassionate service (Gal5:13-14 Mt20:28 Luc22:27)
At Wells Salvation Church we are dedicated to a life of prayer. We are convinced that through prayer, we commune with God and are transformed by Him through His Spirit and are empowered to become agents of transformation by the same Spirit (Luc11:1-3, Mt21:13)
7. Praise and Worship
At Wells Salvation Church, we are committed to worshiping God in Truth and in Spirit (Jn 4:23-24). We desire our worship to be God-centered, passionate, authentic and biblically based.
